Jürgen Westphalen (Economist)

Jürgen Westphalen (born March 5, 1930 in Flensburg ) is a German economist and author .

Life

Westphalen received his doctorate in economics from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen . He worked at the German-Bolivian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in La Paz in Bolivia , became managing director of the German Ibero-America Foundation in Hamburg and in 1971 head of the economics department of the German-South American Bank AG in Hamburg. He was also chairman of the advisory board of the Latin America Center at the University of Münster .

Westphalen published several papers on Latin American economics.
