Jüri Müür (born January 7, 1929 in Tartu , Republic of Estonia , †  November 17, 1984 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Jüri Müür completed his directing studies at the State All Union Institute for Cinematography (WGIK) in Moscow in 1960 . He then worked as a film director in Estonia until his death. From 1960 to 1972 and from 1975 to 1984 he was employed by the state-owned Soviet Estonian production company Tallinnfilm . From 1972 to 1975 he worked for the film production company of the Estonian State Television , Eesti Telefilm .

Jüri Müür directed numerous Estonian feature films and documentaries from the 1960s and 1970s. He also wrote scripts for animation and documentary films. Occasionally, Müür himself was seen as an actor.
