J. Francisco Serrano Cacho

Juan Francisco Serrano Cacho (* 1937 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican architect .

Serrano is the son of the architect Francisco J. Serrano (1900–1982) and studied until 1960 at the Universidad Iberoamericana . He then worked for a few years in his father's architecture office and together with José Nava . Between 1960 and 1971 he also lectured at the Universidad Iberoamericana, the UNAM and the Universidad La Salle in Mexico City. He designed some of his buildings together with Teodoro González de León ; He also planned the Centro Corporativo Bosques in cooperation with Carlos Tejeda and numerous buildings in Mexico together with Susana García Fuertes . After the earthquake collapse, he planned the construction of the new university campus for the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City together with Carlos Mijares Bracho .

Serrano has been a “numbered member” (Miembro de Número) of the Academia de Artes since 1998 . In 2003 he was awarded the National Prize for Arts and Sciences .
