JJ Jeczalik

JJ Jeczalik (born May 11, 1955 ; real name: Jonathan Edward Stephen Jeczalik) is a British keyboardist and programmer , who became known through his membership in the British electronic band Art of Noise . Jeczalik was a founding member of the band together with Anne Dudley , Trevor Horn and Gary Langan in 1983 and was responsible for the Fairlight CMI sounds. Before that he also worked on the realization of the first record by the pop group Frankie Goes to Hollywood , which at the time was under contract with the British record label ZTT , where Jeczalik worked. After the Fairlight CMI Series II was released in 1982, Jeczalik had access to the "Page R", the built-in sequencer of the Fairlight. While working on Yes album 90125 , Jeczalik experimented with drum and percussion samples from Yes drummer Alan White . Jeczalik developed beats and breaks in Page R together with Gary Langan and composed "Beat Box", Art of Noise's debut single.

During the production of the Malcolm McLaren album "Duck Rock" Jeczalik and Langan met the musician Anne Dudley. Together with Horn, Langan, Dudley and Paul Morley, Jeczalik formed the band Art of Noise in 1983.

After the dissolution of Art of Noise, JJ Jeczalik and Bob Kraushaar brought out records with instrumental pieces in the years 1995-1997, which led more into the dance area. The name of this band was Art of Silence . Jeczalik produced albums for the pop groups Godley & Creme and Pet Shop Boys .
