Jaap Bos (born January 19, 1953 in Emmen ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

society

For the 1970/71 season Bos moved into the squad of the first team of GVAV Rapiditas . After a year in the Eerste Divisie and good performances by the winger, the club renamed itself FC Groningen and was henceforth eligible for the Eredivisie . Bos was a permanent member of FCG from the start . After three years in the top Dutch league, the club was relegated. For this reason, the right winger moved to FC Twente in order to continue playing first division football. There he made a good debut in the 1974/75 season. In his debut game for Twente on September 8, 1974, Bos scored four league goals in a 4-0 win against FC Haarlem , and shortly afterwards his first international goal against Ipswich Town . But soon afterwards the winger was out for several months due to an ankle injury. On May 7 and 21, 1975, Twente was in the final of the 1974/75 UEFA Cup . After a 0-0 draw in the first leg, the return leg was lost 5-1 to Borussia Mönchengladbach in front of a home crowd . Bos was in the starting line-up in both games. After Bos had been able to play almost symptom-free in 1975/76, he had to undergo meniscus surgery at the beginning of the 1976/77 season , which is why he only made five appearances. When he won the KNVB Cup in 1977, he could not participate. In August 1977 he made his comeback in the UEFA Intertoto Cup against Standard Liège and returned impressively with three goals. From then on he played without getting any major injuries. In October 1982, shortly after the start of the 1982/83 season, Bos moved to the Eerste Divisie at SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden . There he was active for two years before his career came to an end. Still a striker at Groningen, Bos mostly played in midfield in Enschede. In his last two years at Cambuur, he was often used as a defender.

National team

1975 Bos was nominated for the first time for the Jong Oranje (U-21 selection).
