Jacek Żakowski
Jacek Żakowski ( ) (born August 17, 1957 in Warsaw ) is a Polish journalist and political writer.
Żakowski graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at Warsaw University in 1981 . Even before the introduction of martial law on December 13, 1981 , he was employed by the scout magazine "Na przełaj".
According to martial law, the magazine was discontinued. Żakowski worked for the illegal press office of Solidarność . Officially, he became an employee of the Catholic monthly “Powściągliwość i Praca” (Self-Control and Work) published by the Congregation of St. Michael the Archangel .
After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, he co-founded Gazeta Wyborcza . He is currently a permanent contributor to the news magazine Polityka , providing commentary for Gazeta Wyborcza and hosting morning programs on Friday morning on Radio Tok FM and on Monday TVN . He is also professor of journalism at the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw.
