Jacek Laszczkowski

Jacek Laszczkowski (born March 28, 1966 in Szczuczyn , Powiat Grajewski , Poland ) is a Polish singer who sings in the soprano and tenor voices .

After studying the clarinet in Białystok , he went to the Chopin Academy in Warsaw and studied singing (tenor). After that he had engagements as a lyric tenor . He had already sung as a child and was able to keep his clear soprano voice through his voice breaking. In a production of the Warsaw Chamber Opera , in which he sang the title role of Orfeo von Monteverdi as tenor, he was asked to audition the role with his soprano. He then got the role of Nerone in Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea and began his career as a soprano, which also took him to major international opera houses and festivals.

In 2003 Opernwelt magazine voted him singer of the year.

He also worked as an actor in several films, including a. in a leading role in Dusza spiewa z cyklu “Opowiesci weekendowe” by the Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi .

Laszczkowski lives in Warsaw with his wife and two daughters.
