Jacek Zieliński (born October 10, 1967 in Wierzbica ) is a Polish football player ( defense ) and coach .
Career
In his youth he played for Orzeł Wierzbica before moving to Igloopol Dębica , where he played his first senior games. Most of his career, however, he played after his move in 1991 for the Polish first division club KP Legia Warsaw , where he was team captain for years.
National team
In the Polish national team he made his debut on June 7, 1995 against Slovenia . In total, Jacek Zieliński completed 60 international matches for Poland, in which he scored one goal. He participated with Poland in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea .
Coaching career
In the 2004/05 season he briefly coached his former club KP Legia Warsaw and was then assistant coach until 2007. In 2007 he again temporarily took over the coaching position at Legia Warsaw. In the 2007/08 season he coached the first division club Korona Kielce , from June 23, 2008 he was under contract with the first division club Lechia Gdańsk , where he was released from his duties in early April 2009. From May 2010 he was Franciszek Smuda's assistant coach for the Polish national football team . After his dismissal, Zieliński also lost his post. In January 2013 he became Marcin Dorna's assistant coach for the Polish U-20 and U-21 national teams .
