Jackie Cola was an indie pop band from Freiburg , which existed from 2003 to 2007 and achieved some notoriety, especially in southern Germany.

history

In 2003 the trio produced their first demo CD with three tracks, which was already very well received in the Freiburg area. In 2004 came the first EP Jetzt und hier with the title Alles was ich wanted , which took first place in the listener charts on SWR youth radio DasDing for 16 weeks in a row. In the same year the band played numerous concerts all over Germany (including Berlin, Stuttgart and Freiburg as support for Silbermond ). In 2005 they recorded the first album Kein zurück , which was released on September 5, 2005. For the first time, the band's music could be bought in stores across Germany. Jackie Cola toured Germany after the album was released, and her songs received widespread TV and radio coverage (including MTV , DasDing-TV , hr3 , WDR , ProSieben ). In DasDing's annual charts, Jackie Cola was the only newcomer band to land in the Top 100 (33rd place), with a total of more than 100 concerts played in 2005. In 2006 the EP James Dean and other love songs was released ... which was presented at numerous festivals in the summer. In 2007 the band broke up.

Awards

After winning the nationwide Play live competition , Jackie Cola was able to call itself the “best young band in Baden-Württemberg”. Further band contest victories underpin this title: Band 2003, KABa rocks festival, They might be Stars.
