The Jackson Pond is a frozen meltwater pond in Wright Valley of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the maze , it's halfway between the end of Upper Wright Glacier and Anvil Pond .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2004 after the American geologist Jeffrey K. Jackson of Northern Illinois University , who was involved in the drilling project in the Antarctic dry valleys from 1974 and 1975 .
