Jacob Steen "Jaxe" Christensen (born June 25, 2001 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player who is under contract with the first division club FC Nordsjælland . The midfielder has been the Danish U21 international since September 2019 .
Career
society
Jacob Christensen started playing football at AB Gladsaxe and moved to the youth department of FC Nordsjælland at the age of 12. In preparation for the 2018/19 season , he trained with the first team. Later he was promoted to the first team by head coach Kasper Hjulmand . On July 15, 2018 (1st matchday) he made his debut at the age of 17 in a 1-1 draw against Esbjerg fB , when he came on for Benjamin Hansen in the 73rd minute of the game . He established himself as a substitute and played 22 league games in which he was unsuccessful. In the following season 2019/20 the young midfielder made his breakthrough as a regular player. On August 31, 2019 (8th matchday) he scored his first goal in the top Danish league in a 2-1 home win against Hobro IK . In this season he completed 32 league games in which he managed to hit one.
National team
Jacob Christensen played international matches for the Danish U16 , U17 and U19 national teams.
He has been the Danish U21 international since September 2019 .
