Jacob Faber (builder)
Jacob Faber (also Jacopo Fabris ; * around 1690 in Venice ; † December 17 or 18, 1761 in Copenhagen ) was a German builder and theater painter .
He was the son of German parents living in Italy. From 1719 he was court painter in Karlsruhe and later a decorative painter at the Hamburg theater. In Berlin he designed the stage technology and decorations for the Royal Opera as an employee of Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff . In 1742 he went to Copenhagen. His work on theater construction and decorations appeared there in 1760 under the name Jacopo Fabris: Instruction in the theatrical architecture and mechanique .
