Jacob Hochbrucker

Jacob Hochbrucker (also Georg Hochbrucker , Jakob Hochprugger ; * around 1673 in Mindelheim ; † March 28, 1763 in Donauwörth ) was a harpist, plucked instrument maker, violin maker and lute maker. In 1720 he invented the pedal harp with pedals on the harp foot. He is the ancestor of the German harp builder and harpist family "Hochbrucker" (also: "Hochbrugger" and Hochprugger). His son is the harp maker Simon Hochbrucker , the harpist Coelestin Hochbrucker is his nephew.
