Jacob Karel Willem Quarles van Ufford
Jacob Karel Willem Quarles van Ufford (born May 22, 1818 in Rijswijk , † March 9, 1902 in The Hague ) was a Dutch lawyer and colonial official .
Quarles van Ufford stayed in Padang and Java . From 1857 to 1871 he held important positions in the Dutch Ministry of the Colonies. He influenced the colonial policy of the Netherlands in Southeast Asia and left numerous reports on India .
