Jacob Krop (born June 4, 2001 ) is a Kenyan athlete who competes in the long-distance runs .

Athletic career

Jacob Krop comes from West Pokot County in western Kenya. He started athletics in 2017. His career began with competitions at the national level in the obstacle course. Since the 2019 season, he has mainly competed over the 5000 meter distance. In April he competed at the U20 African Championships in Abidjan, where he won the silver medal in 13: 14.44 minutes. In the summer he finished fourth in the national elimination competitions for the World Championships in Doha. After two of his compatriots were suspended due to doping violations, only one other compatriot, Nicholas Kimeli , joined Krop for Kenya over the 5000 meters at the world championships. As second of his prelims he moved into the finals, in which he finished sixth three days later with a new best time of 13: 03.08 min.
