Jákup Nolsøe (baptized as Jacob on January 7, 1775 in Nólsoy ; † August 18, 1869 in Tórshavn ) was a Faroese trade administrator, politician and brother of the national hero Nólsoyar Páll .

Jákup was the son of Súsanna Djónadóttir from Velbastaður and Poul Joensen from Nólsoy. He was married to Anne Cathrine Pedersdatter. Napoleon Nolsøe was one of their children.

1831-1851 he was administrator of the monopoly trade over the Faroe Islands .

As a politician, Nolsøe sat 1858-1859 for the constituency Südstreymoy in Løgting .

When the Faroese language was written down in the early 19th century, Nolsøe played a role as the first Faroese to use an etymological orthography based on Old Norse rather than phonetic. In 1829 he wrote the first Faroese grammar, but it was never published.
