Jacob Spengler
Jacob Spengler (born May 21, 1537 in St. Gallen ; † July 9, 1613 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).
Life
Jacob Spengler was the son of Leonhard Spengler, city judge , and his wife Barbara, b. Scherrer.
He was a member of the shoemaker's guild and from 1564 to 1571 Elfer and from 1572 to 1573 their guild master.
From 1574 to 1580 he was councilor and during this time he was Obervogt in 1579 and from 1580 to 1613, alternating with Hans Wetter (elected 1580), Konrad Friederich , Othmar Reiner (elected 1588), Heinrich Keller (elected 1600) and Joachim Reutlinger (elected 1601 ) every three years mayor , former mayor and imperial bailiff . In the period from 1582 to 1613 he was also Pannerherr or Pannerhauptmann and from 1519 to 1613 school council chairman .
Jacob Spengler married Katharina in 1568, daughter of Jacob Donder.
