Othmar Reiner

Othmar Reiner (born April 3, 1542 in St. Gallen ; † May 18, 1613 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Othmar Reiner was the son of Hans Reiner, butcher's guild master and sub-mayor, and his wife Magdalena Schirmer. He had two brothers:

  • Melchior Reiner, Mayor of Košice in Hungary ; For his services he received a nobility letter from Emperor Rudolf II in 1589 and another nobility letter in 1616 from Emperor Matthias
  • Caspar Reiner (1554–1620), Mayor of Kassel in Hesse

He was a member of the butcher guild and in 1577 a 911 and in 1578 a guild master.

From 1584 to 1587 he was sub-mayor and from 1588 to 1613 alternating with Heinrich Keller, Konrad Friederich and Joachim Reutlinger every three years as mayor , former mayor and bailiff .

Othmar Reiner's first marriage was to Ursula, daughter of Hans Hauptlin, Elfer and councilor, and his second marriage to Ester Schlumpf, daughter of Caspar Schlumpf, Elfer.
