Jacobus Johannes Ewoud Hondius

Jacobus Johannes Ewoud Hondius (born July 28, 1897 in Utrecht ; † November 5, 1950 ) was a Dutch epigraphist and ancient historian .

He studied at the universities of Leiden and Utrecht , where he received his doctorate on July 10, 1925 under Carl Wilhelm Vollgraff (1876-1967). Since 1930 he was a private lecturer in Greek epigraphy at the University of Groningen . He founded the Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum in 1922 and published it until his death.
