Jacof Crewl (also Jacoff Krewel, Jacobff Krewl, Jacoff Krayl ) was a Dresden councilor and mayor in the 16th century .

Crewl was professionally active as a Seidensticker and is mentioned for the first time in 1499 as Jacoff Krewel, the Seydensticker in the documents. From 1500 he belonged to the Dresden council and took over the office of defeat and shotgun administrator. After Dresden had been given the right to defeat in 1455 , all goods going to Bohemia had to be offered for sale in the city for a certain period of time. The administration of the resulting income and the monitoring of the movement of goods was the responsibility of the defeat office. Connected to this was the beer grist office. This collected the taxes incurred when removing and storing (grinding) beer and wine barrels, called grist money .

In 1503 Crewl worked as lord of the lords and was thus responsible for collecting the hereditary and capital interest , which had to be paid by the landowners to the city. In 1506 he was finally mentioned as a treasurer , the following year as the governing mayor. At the same time, it is listed for the last time in the council register.
