Matthes Koler

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Matthes Koler (also Koller, Koeler ) was a Dresden councilor and mayor in the 15th and 16th centuries .

Little is known about Koler's life. His name is mentioned for the first time in a combing invoice from 1478. In it a fine of eight shillings is imposed on him because he "has violated the stat wilkor ..." , i.e. H. has violated the applicable brewing law. His name is again found in the council files in 1482 in connection with a loan transaction. In 1482 he was the owner of a house on Schreibergasse.

From 1488, Matthes Koler belonged to the Dresden council. He was also head of the Franciscan monastery together with Heinrich Kannengießer . In 1503 he took over the office of treasurer in the council . In 1491, Duke Georg entrusted him with the control of income and expenses for the reconstruction of the Kreuzkirche , which was destroyed in the town fire . In 1505 he took over the office of governing mayor for the first time, which he held every three years until 1515. This year he is also listed for the last time in the list of council members.
