Florent Balmont (born February 2, 1980 in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon ) is a French football player . The midfielder is under contract with FCO Dijon . Of the still active players, Balmont is the one with the most appearances in Ligue 1 with over 500 appearances .

Career

Balmont began his career in the youth of Olympique Lyon and was there from the 2000/01 season in the first team. As part of the squad, he won the league cup in 2001 and the championship in the 2001/02 season . He made his Ligue 1 debut on October 26, 2002 in a 1-0 win against AC Ajaccio . In the season in which he was able to celebrate the championship again with Lyon, Balmont came on nine missions.

After a loan to league rivals FC Toulouse in the 2003/04 season , Balmont came back to two league appearances after his return at the beginning of the 2004/05 season . On August 22, 2004, he scored his first league goal in his last game for Olympique Lyon in a 1-1 draw against FC Metz . He then moved within the league to OGC Nice . There he came in four seasons on 139 missions in which he scored four goals.

From July 1, 2008 Balmont played for Lille OSC . In the 2010/11 season he won the championship and the Coupe de France with the team . On September 13, 2011 he played in the Champions League for the first time in a 2-2 draw against CSKA Moscow . On March 8, 2015, Balmont played his 400th game in Ligue 1 in a 1-0 away win against EA Guingamp .

For the 2016/17 season Balmont moved to the first division promoted FCO Dijon .
