Jacques Guillaume Thouret

Jacques Guillaume Thouret (born April 30, 1746 in Pont-l'Évêque , now Coudray-Rabut , † April 22, 1794 in Paris ) was a lawyer and an active participant in the French Revolution . As a member of the city of Rouen for the third estate, he took part in the General Estate Assembly in 1789. Thouret campaigned for secularization and, as president of the constituent national assembly, was a member of a deputation that was given to King Louis XVI. 1791 presented the new constitution. As a Girondist, he was a victim of the reign of terror and guillotined in Paris .
