Jacques Normand (writer)
Jacques Normand (pseudonym: Jacques Madelaine , born November 25, 1848 in Paris , † May 28, 1931 ibid) was a French writer.
Normand studied law and became a lawyer at the age of 22. He signed up for the Gardes Mobiles in 1870 and, after demobilization, studied at the École nationale des chartes from 1871 to 1874 . In 1875 he graduated as an archivist paleographe .
Since the beginning of the 1870s, Normand has emerged as a poet, storyteller and playwright. In 1873 his poetry story L'Emigrant Alsacien was published with illustrations by Gustave Doré . For the poem La poesie de la science (with Louis Denayrouse ) the Académie française awarded him the Prix de poésie . In 1904 he received the Prix Georges Lambert .
For AIOL, chanson de geste du XIII ° siècle , a collaboration with Gaston Raynaud , he was awarded by the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres . In 1918 Groz became a member of the Société des Gens de Lettres ; As its vice-president, he donated a literary prize under his name, which u. a. Maurice Valette (1919), André Romane (1920), Ida Faubert (1939), Claude Ducellier (1949), Odette Casadesus (1953), Claude-Pierre Boutet (1983), Michèle Hénin (1984), Jean-Pierre Desthuilliers (1987 ), Dominique Nourry (1988), Gérard Bocholier (1991), Gilles Prin (1992), and Jacques Simon (1993). Groz was a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
