Jacques de Lacretelle (born June 14, 1888 in Cormatin , † January 2, 1985 in Paris ) was a French writer .

Lacretelle wrote novels , short stories , novels and dramas . His novel Silbermann was awarded the Prix ​​Femina in 1922 . The sequel to Silbermann appeared in 1929 under the title Le retour de Silbermann .

In 1936 he was elected a member of the Académie française . Jacques de Lacretelle had a great influence on the development of the French press ( Le Figaro , Liberation ).
