The German Bight Fighter Pilot was a service in the German Air Force during the Second World War . The office was budgeted in December 1939 with the command post in Jever , and from 1943 onwards in Stade . With effect from December 1, 1943, the agency was renamed Jagdfliegerführer 2 . The fighter pilot's leader in the German Bight achieved its first significance with the aerial battle over the German Bight on December 18, 1939. The primary task of the fighter pilot consisted in the operational and tactical leadership of the fighter pilot's associations stationed in his area. Mostly this was a fighter squadron. He also informed his superior departments about grievances, losses, successes as well as incoming enemy forces, weather conditions or made requests for personnel and / or replacement machines.

At the beginning of the Western campaign on 10 May 1940 was Fighter Leader German Bight of the 2nd Air Fleet assumed. The II. And IV. Groups of Jagdgeschwader 2 , I. (Jagd-) Gruppe of Lehrgeschwader 2 and II. (J) / 186, all equipped with the Messerschmitt Bf 109 , were available to him for his task .
