Jagodno (formerly Wogenab or Polish Jagodna ) is a settlement in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . Jagodno belongs to the rural community Elbląg (German: Elbing ) in the district of Elbląski .

location

The place is located in the north of Poland about 14 kilometers north of Elbląg and 90 km northwest of Olsztyn ( Allenstein ) on the road no. 503. The suspended railway line Elbląg – Braniewo (Haffuferbahn), which has not been regularly used since 2006 , passes Jagodno.

history

After the collapse of the monastic state , the Elbingen area belonged to Polish Prussia from 1466 under the patronage of the Crown of Poland. The first partition of Poland in 1772 made it part of the West Prussian Province up to and including 1919 . When, after the First World War , the provisions of the Versailles Treaty came into force in January 1920 , the areas east of the Vistula were annexed to neighboring East Prussia as the administrative district of West Prussia .

From 1975 to 1998 the place was administratively part of the Elbląg Voivodeship . The old port of Jagodna as part of the Fresh Lagoon does not appear officially in the list of the Maritime Authority . Since it is located in a bird sanctuary , the office is not interested in operating the port for smaller sailing ships or yachts.
