Jahmir Hyka (born March 8, 1988 in Tirana , Albania ) is an Albanian football player . He has been under contract with Sektzia Nes Tziona in the Ligat ha'Al since January 2020 .
Career
At the age of 16 he was in the first team of his hometown club Dinamo Tirana , but never made his debut there. For a year he switched to Rosenborg Trondheim on loan to the top Norwegian league, the Tippeligaen . Since January 2007 he has been under contract with the Greek champions Olympiacos Piraeus . For the 2007/08 season he was loaned to the Albanian champions KF Tirana to gain match practice. For the 2008/09 season, Hyka moved to 1. FSV Mainz 05 . He was never able to assert himself there and on June 15, 2010 he moved to the Greek first division club Panionios Athens . Half a year later he returned to KF Tirana.
In summer 2011 he moved to the Swiss Super League club FC Luzern . In five and a half seasons, Hyka played 161 championship games and scored 21 goals. His contract ran until June 30, 2017.
In February 2017, before the end of his contract, he left FC Luzern and joined the US first division club San José Earthquakes . In November 2018, San Jose Earthquakes announced that Hyka would not renew its expiring contract.
In January 2019 he joined the Israeli first division club Maccabi Netanja . But a year later he went on to league rivals and promoted Sektzia Nes Tziona .
National team
For the Albanian national team he played his first A international match against Macedonia on February 7, 2007. He played in midfield and was considered a great beacon of hope in Albania. By 2018 he had played a total of 47 games in which he was able to score two goals.
