Jakob Albert Jacobs (born May 19, 1812 in Antwerp , † December 9, 1879 there ) was a Belgian landscape painter .

Jakob Albert Jacobs, initially destined for the book printing business, was only able to devote himself to art later and developed himself mainly through gallery studies. He was particularly successful with navies animated by ships and waterfalls roaring wildly over rocks.

In 1847 he went on a study trip to Germany after having previously visited the Orient, Egypt, Constantinople and Norway. In Germany you can find in the Nationalgalerie Berlin : Greek Sea, from 1848, in the Neue Pinakothek in Munich: the shipwreck of the ship Floridian on the coast of Essex February 28, 1848, a sunrise in the archipelago, from 1852, and the view part of the seaport at Constantinople . He died in Antwerp on December 9, 1879.
