Jakob Baran

Jakob Baran (born July 25, 1992 in Vienna ) is an Austrian American football player for the Danube Dragons . He plays in the linebacker position .

Baran went through the youth programs of the Danube Dragons and played early in the first team. In 2006, at the age of 14, he was called up to the junior national team (U19) and played at the European Championships in Spain. At the age of 17 he played in the starting line-up and made a major contribution to the 2010 championship title. In 2010 he was elected young star of the league and led the statistics in tackles. He was then appointed to the world selection in 2011 and played against the selection from the United States of America.
