Jakob Dusek (born November 19, 1996 ) is an Austrian snowboarder . He starts in snowboard cross.

Career

Dusek, who competes for Union Trendsport Weichberger , won 29th place in the parallel giant slalom and 13th place in snowboard cross at the 2013 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Predeal . In March 2013 he reached his first podium in the European Cup with third place in Puy-Saint-Vincent . At the 2014 Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco , he finished 25th, at the 2015 Junior World Championships in Yabuli, 16th and at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Rogla, 27th place. In the 2015/16 season he made his debut in the Snowboard World Cup in Montafon , which he finished in 48th place and clinched his first victory in the European Cup in Lenk . In the 2017/18 season he achieved six second and three first places in the European Cup and thus won the snowboard cross category. In the following season he won this ranking with four second and three first places. In the 2019/20 season he made six World Cup appearances, four times in the top ten. He achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in Big White and fifth in the Snowboard Cross World Cup at the end of the season.

Dusek has taken part in 23 World Cups so far and has finished in the top ten four times. (Status: end of season 2019/20)
