Jakob Sprenger

Jakob Sprenger (born 1872 in Speicher AR ; died 1952 ) was the third Cifal (1948–1950) of the Volapük movement.

Act

Sprenger became a Volapükist in 1887 and later also secretary to Johann Martin Schleyer . Between 1921 and 1935 he published the Volapük trade journal Nüniel (translated: The Informant ).

In 1921, Arie de Jong submitted his reform plan for the planned language to Albert Sleumer . When the concept was ready in 1929, the whole thing was presented not only to Sleumer, but also to Sprenger. Sleumer, De Jong and Sprenger were the last trio to direct the linguistic development of Volapük, as it were as a mini- academy .

Sprenger was persecuted during the Nazi era . After the Second World War he worked on the reorganization of the Volapük movement. In 1950 his tracks were lost.
