Jakob Stachels

Jakob Stachels (born June 1, 1901 in Cologne-Rath , † April 26, 1977 in Bergisch Gladbach ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Jakob Stachels was born in 1901 to the married couple Josef Stachels and his wife Katharina Odenthal. After graduating from high school in Cologne-Kalk , he studied law and political science at the University of Cologne and received his doctorate in 1924. From July 26, 1923, he was employed as a court trainee at the mayor's office in Porz and at the district office of the Mülheim am Rhein district . He was referred to the district government of Cologne on January 20, 1926 trainee lawyer and on March 12, 1929 as a government assessor at the Fulda district office .

After working for the district government of Münster and the district office in Bergheim , he was commissioned on February 21, 1936 with the deputy management of the district office of Coesfeld . His definitive appointment as district administrator for the Coesfeld district was on April 1, 1938. In the same year he married Anna-Maria Schmit. The marriage resulted in two sons. From October 1940 on, Stachels was appointed to represent Felix Sümmermann , district administrator in Ahaus , who had served his military service until April 1, 1942, and again from July 21, 1944 to September 14, 1944 (Sümmermann's arrest in connection with the assassination attempt on July 20, 1944 ). He remained district administrator of the Coesfeld district until his discharge by the British military government on April 17, 1945.

From 1949 to 1968 Stachels worked as a regional manager or branch director of an insurance company in Cologne.
