Jakob von Ramingen zu Laiblachsberg , occasionally also Rammingen, (* 1510 in Stuttgart , † after 1582 ) was an archivist and archive theorist from Württemberg. He became known for his works on archive and stock book theory .

Life

As the son of the Württemberg state archivist of the same name, Jakob von Rammingen grew up in Stuttgart and was instructed in writing and filing by his father from 1525 . From 1533 to 1535 he himself worked as a clerk before he had to flee to Ulm due to inadequate accounting of war expenses and the ensuing confiscation of his goods. From 1535 to 1553 he served as registrar and renovator for various noble lords. From 1553 to 1559 he held the office of renovator in the office of Göppingen , from 1576 he was councilor of Count Palatine Hans von Veldenz and Lützelstein (until 1579).

In 1548 he was awarded the title of nobility at the imperial instigation . After the acquisition of Laiblachsberg Castle in Sigmarszell near Lindau , he received imperial approval in 1554 to use an addition to his name.
