The Jakobuskirche in Bruchköbel

The Evangelical St. James Church in Bruchköbel , a town in the Main-Kinzig district in East Hesse , is the oldest church and its tower is the town's landmark.

In 1392 a "pharkirchen sente Jacobs zu Bruchkebil" is mentioned, that is, a church that was consecrated to James the Elder and was then still a Catholic church. However, other documents and finds from the wall suggest that a church must have existed there before the 12th century.
