Jakub Hottek (born June 24, 1983 ) is a Czech football player .
Club career
Hottek began his career at Slavia Prague , when he was still a junior he played in the B team in the third Czech division. For the second half of the 2002/03 season, the midfielder was added to the professional squad by then coach Miroslav Beránek .
At the important junior tournament Torneo di Viareggio 2003 he reached the final with Slavia and was one of the best players. When his contract expired in the summer of 2003, he moved to Viktoria Žižkov within the city limits for a transfer of around ten million kroner . Italian media had previously reported a transfer to Reggina Calcio as already completed. Viktoria Žižkov rose unexpectedly and got twelve points deduction for the following second division season as a result of the bribery scandal. Žižkov could not make up for this shortcoming.
Hottek himself moved to Chmel Blšany in the Gambrinus League for the 2005/06 season , but could not meet expectations and returned to Prague after half a year . At the end of June 2007 Hottek signed a two-year contract with the Scottish second division club FC Livingston , and at the end of November of the same year the contract was terminated by mutual agreement. In July, Hottek joined the Slovak first division club FC Nitra . In January 2009, Hottek moved to his former club Viktoria Žižkov. In the summer of 2009 he moved on to the AO Agia Napa club in Cyprus . After only one season in Cyprus, Hottek went back to the Czech Republic and joined the third division club Arsenal Česká Lípa .
National team
Hottek was considered one of the greatest talents in Czech football from an early age. In 1998 he made three appearances in the U15 team, from 2000 to 2001 he played eight times in the U17 and one time in the U19 national team. In 2004 he was used twice in the U-21 selection .
