Jaleswar is a small town in the Indian state of Odisha .
The city is part of the Baleswar district . Jaleswar has the status of a Notified Area Committee . The city is divided into 17 wards . It had a total of 25,747 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of whom 13,095 were men and 12,652 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of around 84%, followed by Muslims with around 10% and Christians with around 3%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 81.46%.
The city is connected to the national rail network by a train station.
The Chandaneswar Temple attracts pilgrims and tourists.
