James "Jimmy" Adams (born August 17, 1864 in Edinburgh , Scotland , † April 24, 1943 in New Jersey , United States ) was a Scottish football player and referee .

career

James Adams played from 1885 for Heart of Midlothian , with whom he won the Scottish Cup once . He later joined the English club Everton for two years before ending his career again with the Hearts .
He also played three caps for the Scottish national team .

After the end of his playing career, Adams became a referee . The trained bricklayer later moved to the USA, where he died in 1943.
