James Adams (* 1903 in Glasgow ; † unknown) was a Scottish football player .

Career

Adams came in February 1924 from St Roch's junior football to first division club FC Kilmarnock . After being used in a friendly against Queen of the South , he was firmly committed and came in the remaining game days of the 1923/24 season to eight missions and one goal when Kilmarnock was in relegation battle. On the center-half position had previously during the season Jake Dunlop , Robert Howat , Hugh Morton and Joe Willis tried. Despite a draw on his debut against the Glasgow Rangers (final score 1: 1) in his home rugby park , only two wins in the eight games , Adams contributed one goal in a 3-0 win against the later relegated FC Clyde . In the 1924/25 season , newcomer James Clark started as a middle runner, mid-season he was replaced by Dunlop. For Adams there were only three missions left as a right outside runner , at the end of the season he was not signed up.

In the summer of 1925 he was signed by the second division team Queen of the South, and came to 32 missions in the course of the 1925/26 season (1 goal in 2-2 against FC Stenhousemuir ; "like a shot from a cannon") for the newly promoted, mostly he was active as a right wing runner. In September 1926 he moved to league rivals Alloa Athletic and played 29 times in Division Two for this in the following two seasons , mostly now as a right defender. Because of unspecified violations during the season break, he, like his teammate Willie Campbell , was suspended for a month in early September 1927.
