Sir James Alexander Turpin C MG (1966) (born January 7, 1917 in Dublin - † October 3, 2006 ) was a British diplomat .

Life

James Alexander Turpin studied at King's Hospital, Dublin, and Trinity College, Dublin. Where he became a lecturer in 1940. He married Kathleen Iris Eadie in 1942 with whom he had a daughter. James Alexander Turpin served in the British Army from 1942 to 1946 . In 1948 he was embassy secretary at the OECD . In 1950 he was employed in the Foreign Office . In 1953 he was employed at the embassy in Warsaw . In 1955 he was employed at the embassy in Tokyo . From November 1972 to 1976 he was ambassador to Manila .
