John Noel Ormiston Curle

Sir John Noel Ormiston Curle KCVO , CMG (* 1915 in Brighton ; † 1997 ) was a British diplomat .

Life

John Nod Ormiston Curle studied in Marlborough (Wiltshire) and at New College (Oxford) . He was a traveling fellow at Queen's College (Oxford) . He first married Diana Hawtrey Deane and in 1948 Pauline Roberts. In 1956 he was counselor in Stockholm . 1958 Counselor in Athens . From 1967 to 1970 he was ambassador to Monrovia , Liberia . From 1968 to 1970 he was ambassador to Conakry , Guinea . From 1970 to 1972 he was ambassador to Manila . In 1975 he was knighted as Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order . 1985 he wasChief of Protocol in Hong Kong .
