James Bland (singer)
James Bland ( March 15, 1798 - July 17, 1861 ) was an English opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Bland, the son of the opera singer Maria Theresa Bland and the actor Georg Bland, worked very successfully as a bass buffalo in London for many years. He sang in the opera Oracle by Peter von Winter at the Lyceum Theater in 1826 and was also employed for many years at the Drury Lane Theater and also appeared in London's Strand Theater , in ballad operas and in operettas.
Bland died unexpectedly on entering the Strand Theater in 1861.
His brother Charles Bland also became an opera singer.
