James Gang
The James Gang (named after the gang of Jesse James ) was an American rock band formed in Cleveland , Ohio in 1966 .
Band history
The original line-up of the band consisted of Jim Fox ( drums ), Tom Kriss ( electric bass ), Ronnie Silverman ( guitar ), Phil Giallombardo ( keyboard ) and Glen Schwartz (guitar). An album was never released with this line-up. In 1968 Joe Walsh replaced Glen Schwartz, who co-founded the Pacific Gas & Electric group. The first release "Yer-Album" followed with Walsh. In 1969 the album "James Gang rides again" was released with the two hits "Funk # 49" and "The Bomber". The James Gang toured as opening act for The Who during their England tour. After the release of two more albums, "Thirds" and the live album "James Gang live in Concert", Walsh left the band to join the Eagles after a brief solo career .
After a few more new appointments / changes, etc. a. with Tommy Bolin , the band broke up in 1976. With the line-up Walsh / Peters / Fox there was a re-union in 1996, with appearances on the "Drew Carey Show" (1998-99) and the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" (2001). In 2006 the band toured the United States, performing live on the Howard Stern Radio Show.
