James M. Roe (* 1943 ) is an American amateur astronomer and asteroid explorer.
The engineer lived from 1995 to 2003 in Oaxaca de Juárez , the capital of the Mexican state of Oaxaca . There he discovered a total of 94 asteroids between 1998 and 2002.
He currently lives in St. Charles County , Missouri , USA , where he founded the Alliance for Astronomy in 2004 , a non-profit organization promoting astronomy and allied sciences.
