James Manjackal MSFS (born April 18, 1946 in Cheruvally near Kottayam , India ) is a Roman Catholic priest of the Order of Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales and a major contributor to the Roman Catholic charismatic movement .

Life

James Manjackal was born in the Indian state of Kerala , where Christians are a strong minority. There he was on April 23, 1973 in the Order of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales ordained a priest. Since then, Manjackal has undertaken evangelistic trips to eighty-seven countries on every continent, including trips to the USA , Germany , Bosnia-Herzegovina , Croatia and Austria . Manjackal also carried out evangelistic trips to Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates .

His priestly service includes meetings, seminars and retreats , the celebration of healing services , and the management of evangelism schools. James Manjackal himself founded the “Charis Bhavan” retreat center in Kerala in 1989, which he was director for six years. He also wrote many books on Charismatic Renewal in the Roman Catholic Church. His works, which at the same time reflect his priestly service and tell related events and experiences, have been published in many languages, including German.
