James McFadden (born April 14, 1983 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football player .

Career

The first professional club of the offensive all-rounder was FC Motherwell . From 2000 to 2003 McFadden was under contract with Motherwell, where he a. a. matured under ex-team coach Berti Vogts to the national team of Scotland. From the 2003/04 season, the Scot played at Everton . Since the transition period in the winter of 2007/08, James McFadden played for Everton's league rivals Birmingham City . After a serious knee injury and the expiry of his contract, he returned to Everton in October 2011. After his contract with Everton was not renewed in the summer of 2012, he was initially without a club. At the end of September 2012, he completed a trial session at the English first division AFC Sunderland . In late October 2012, McFadden was finally signed by Sunderland. In February 2013 he signed a contract with FC Motherwell until the end of the 2012/13 season .

McFadden played 48 times for the Scottish national football team . On September 12, 2007 he scored the 1-0 final score for Scotland in the 64th minute of play against France from about 20-25 meters.
