Others
Miracle Drug is one of only three songs (alongside Numb and some live versions of Elevation ) that three band members sing, namely Bono , The Edge and Larry Mullen . The album includes two songs dedicated to Bono's late father: Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own and One Step Closer . In the summer of 2004, The Edge had a demo CD with the songs from How to Dismantle stolen from Atomic Bomb . This led to the official release date being brought forward. On the afternoon of November 22, 2004, the video for All Because of You was filmed, with U2 driving across New York on a truck and playing the song live. On the evening of the same day U2 played a free concert in front of around 3,000 spectators in New York's Empire Ferry Fulton State Park on the Brooklyn Bridge . Six songs from the new album were played. The concert was recorded by MTV and some weeks later it was partially broadcast. In the fall of 2004, an unreleased How to Dismantle song appeared on the Internet at Atomic Bomb sessions: Mercy . According to Larry Mullen, Crumbs from Your Table is the only song on the DVD that U2 wrote while drunk and that he has no memories of how it came about.
