In the lyrics to the song Zooropa , the well-known Audi advertising slogan Vorsprung durch Technik appears at the beginning . There are three songs that remained unfinished and were released on another album or only as a single. On the one hand, this is Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me , which U2 contributed as the soundtrack for the film Batman Forever and cannot be found on any U2 album. It can only be found on the compilation The Best of 1990-2000 . The tracks Wake Up Dead Man and If You Wear That Velvet Dress can be heard on the follow-up album Pop .

You can see the titles of these three songs on the cover of Zooropa, where fragments of the title can be read ("Wake up de", "Et Dress", "Iss me Kill M").

As singles were Lemon and Stay (Faraway, So Close!) Decoupled from the album. The song Stay (Faraway, So Close!) Is also on the soundtrack for the Wim Wenders film In Far Far Away, So Close! to listen. Numb was released as a video single.

Since many songs were recorded during the ZooTV tour, they lack the finishing touches, according to singer Bono. This was possibly one of the reasons Zooropa fell short of sales expectations after Achtung Baby . The songs Numb , Stay (Faraway, So Close!) And The First Time also appear on the compilation The Best of U2 1990-2000 . The song Numb shows slight changes compared to the original version.
