James Merendino (2011)

James Merendino (* 1967 in Rome , Italy ) is an American film director and screenwriter .

biography

At the age of six, James Antonioni Merendino and his family moved from Italy to New York and then to Salt Lake City . At sixteen he moved back to Rome to study theology and philosophy .

He made numerous independent films , which, however, received little attention. Only with his subculture study " Punk! " (1998), which has since become a cult film, did he make an important contribution to film history. The German actor Til Schweiger can be seen in a supporting role . His film Trespassing (2004), however, was by critics and panned .
