James Rogers (athlete)

James Rogers (born May 27, 1933 in Blankenburg ) is a former Guyanese sprinter .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1954 , he was starting fifth for British Guiana over 440 yards .

He set his personal best over this distance of 47.4 s (47.1 s over 400 meters ) on May 8, 1954 in Baltimore .

From 1951 to 1955 he studied at Morgan State University .
